One-on-one manuscript consultations with Sarah-Joy Milner — published poet, triple-fellowship recipient, and emerging voice in contemporary poetry. She accepts poetry, nonfiction, and fiction manuscripts at all stages for consulations, helping you edit, map, and compile your manuscript so that it fits your vision of what you want to send out to publishers.
"Her work interrogates grief, lineage, and the body as a living archive — mapping how personal and familial histories intertwine."
Sarah-Joy Milner is an Afro-Indigenous Odawa and Oglala Lakota poet and educator from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
She holds fellowships from three prestigious institutions — the Vermont Studio Center, Indigenous Nations Poets, and the Sundress Academy for the Arts — and is completing her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of South Florida as a graduate fellow. Her poems appear in Yellow Medicine Review, Odaawaa Zaaga'iganiing Review and Union Spring Literary Review.
When she works with writers, she brings the same precision and depth she applies to her own craft— meeting each manuscript where it is and helping writers discover where it wants to go.
"Working with Sarah-Joy led me to getting my first publication in a magazine, which I'm really proud of. She works warmly and with a focus on craft and precision and helped me edit my draft to where it got accepted."
